Job Title: CIS Development Analyst
Responsible to: College Information Systems (CIS) Development Manager
Main purpose: Responsible for the administration of the College’s management information system and the preparation of management information reports. Assist in the development of an information culture within the College.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are not shown in order of priority or frequency, nor is the list comprehensive, but rather an indication of the type and level of duties expected of the post.
1 Maintain the College’s management information (MI) system, a Capita product, to include user access, systems security and data protection.
2 Responsible for maintaining and developing cross college reporting from a number of core systems to support the day to day management of the College.
3 Maintain and support online elements of the Capita system, including online services and online services for organisations
4 Maintain and support Compass pro suite software, including pro-achieve, pro-general, pro-observer, pro-monitor and pro-performance.
5 Support and update existing Microsoft Access databases used for reporting.
6 Assist in developing, monitoring and reviewing systems and procedures for obtaining information and reports from the student database for all college users.
7 Assist in ensuring the validity of the data held on the MI system.
8 Liaise and collaborate with the other development staff to develop integrated systems to facilitate a culture that enables more effective administration and management of the College.
9 Assist in assessing, devising and delivering training needs for staff using MI systems.
10 Provide a help desk for users of the student database and related systems.
11 Keep updated with IT developments, specifically relating to the student database and related systems and advise on the suitability of new approaches. Ensure that the CIS Development Manager is aware of changes which affect future planning.
12 Maintain the system by ensuring that all of the latest Capita patches are applied and advise the CIS Development Manager of potential impacts.
13 Implement additional modules of the Capita system as required from time to time
14 Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Line Manager.
