We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to join our team based at our Lake Forest, IL worldwide headquarters campus. As a Grainger Telecomm Engineer you will coordinate strategy across the enterprise to integrate voice, data and messaging into Organizational planning, and provide the highest level of engineering for stability and optimization of the production environment to meet Business objectives.
In this role you will;
• Assume technical leadership for the integration of Voice and Network Services of current and future technologies in order to meet business requirements and improve operational performance.
• Participate as Subject Matter Expert on Voice initiatives and marketplace technology solutions.
• Perform analysis, identify and lead cost savings and efficiency improvement projects for voice, data, and messaging systems.
• Lead Change Management from the end-user perspective including:
o Implementation
o Communication (Web, conference calls, voicemail, etc)
o Performance measurement
o Training
o Review of strategic objectives and goal attainment
o Continuous Improvement
• Facilitate supplier development needs, and drive focus to meet long-term objectives.
• Maintain knowledge of all components of Cisco UCCE; CallManager, CVP, Peripheral Gateways, Historical Data Server (AW’s), Voice Gateways, Gatekeepers, LAN/WAN (HSRP, QoS, VLANs, Bandwidth modeling) and other third party software.
• Maintain knowledge of components of Avaya Communication Manager: Definity, ARS designs, Call Management System (CMS), and call vectoring.
To be successful in this role you must have demonstrated proficiency in the following:
• Cisco UCCE/UCCX and ICM Architecture, Integration Design, and Scripting
• Avaya phone hardware, administration and reporting
• Microsoft Lync and Unified Messaging
• Integration of voice with other applications (SIP, Data Networks, Messaging, Security)
• Bachelors degree; 5 years of related experience
• CCVP or CCIE, ACA (Avaya Certified Associate) certification a plus
