Citrix Systems Engineer: Principal Level (8+ Years Experience)
Fidelity's Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) organization is seeking an energetic and dynamic Engineer that will be responsible for defining and implementing complex projects within the Virtual Desktop environment. The candidate will serve as the strategic Desktop Virtualization Subject Matter Expert responsible for product planning and execution throughout the vendor product lifecycles, including: gathering and prioritizing product requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, service delivery and operations to ensure quality, standards and agreed goals are met. This role is focused primarily on Citrix XenApp virtualization technologies with knowledge of associated solutions (XenDesktop, Provisioning Server, and EdgeSite)
Primary Responsibilities
- Delivery of project based Citrix XenApp architecture including: installation, configuration, performance and stability to current and future customers
- Implementation and configuration of the CITRIX EdgeSight environment dedicated to proactive fault/performance monitoring and pre-production load testing
- Ability to manage, maintain, support, troubleshoot, and optimize any Citrix solution presently in place while making suggestion and adjustments to needs in the future
- Defining product strategy and roadmap
- Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products, samples and demonstrations
- Maintain knowledge base all implementations on best practice procedures for Citrix and the related infrastructures
- Maintain a close relationship with the vendors and provide feedback on vendor products and maintain license and support agreements
- Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of the platforms.
- Provide Level III support and repair
- Develop and maintain high standards in establishing procedures and policies to address routine jobs and certain resolution protocols.
- Meet or exceed SLA obligations consistently and on an ongoing basis, allow for accurate metrics to measure response time, meet BCP requirements for offsite access, and reduce the time needed to address hardware/software failures.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong systems engineering skills with an emphasis on enterprise scale architecture
- Exceptional presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Track record of being an effective coach and mentor.
- Advanced knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, WINS, and LDAP
- Firm grasp of Networking related to computer Operating Systems
- Windows Operating Systems (Windows 2008 R2 / Windows 2003) experience is a must.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft functions, Terminal Services.
