Team Description:
The team, although small (2), is comprised of some of the most passionate and gifted technologists in Australia. Egos are checked at the door as the focus is purely on developing the best-performing systems within the industry. As well as unparalleled technical abilities, they are able to face off/liaise directly with the traders and do so on a daily basis. The bulk of the work will focus on producing solutions for the AUS business, however, you will have a dotted reporting line into the region.
Role Description:
This is a 100% hands-on development role. You will be an excellent server-side C++ Core Java developer at the top of your game. You will develop absolutely everything in-house from scratch -- no “off-the-shelf” libraries or frameworks. In this role you will work with traders, other developers, testers, and other specialists to understand the needs of the business and contribute to the design development of their front-office trading applications, the server-side components of the automated trading execution system, and exchange connectivity components. You will be expected to produce sophisticated solutions that allow the company to remain first in class.
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrated extensive (Java/C++) development skills - with an emphasis on low-level, server-side, multithreaded, real-time, low-latency programming.
- Previous FRONT OFFICE experience (Investment Bank, Prop Shop, Hedge Fund)
- Understanding of Automated/Algorithmic Trading Strategies
- Sound software design skills, knowledge of Object Orientated methodologies and use of design patterns.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC in highly complex environments
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- Passion for software excellence and efficiency - with a focus on producing high-performance solutions
- Good communication skills, not shy about speaking up and sharing ideas, with the ability to work in with other global teams.
- An Interest in the Financial Markets trading technology arena
