SUMMARY: Under general supervision this position is responsible for: Working individually or in a team environment, assisting claim professionals and claim management carry out project tasks to develop, design, automate, compile, prepare, analyze, summarize and test information used for claim, operational, and/or financial needs. Using technology to collect, evaluate and analyze management information in order to provide observations and recommendations. PRIMARY DUTIES: Partnering with all lines of business to understand quality objectives, business strategies and key performance indicators in an effort to provide meaningful management information and analysis to help drive line of business performance, including: - Providing analytical and technical data analysis as needed; also providing weekly, monthly, annually and ad hoc reporting to assigned area. - Developing, creating and implementing report standards, formats and procedures. - Gathering information from a variety of sources (policies, claims, sites, etc.), and summarizing data on spreadsheets or other reports, analyzing data and making recommendations based on research and analysis. - Evaluating reasonableness of data including the accuracy of underlying financial controls and operational reports. - Ensuring compliance to financial standards. - Identifying trends, data discrepancies or opportunities (e.g.; financial self assessment results) and providing recommended solutions and effectively communicating to appropriate leadership. - Preparing and delivering detailed financial/operational analysis for all lines of business. - Assisting with budget analysis to include expenses and staffing - Reviewing operational workflows, documenting findings, and providing recommended solutions for improvement. - Resolving standard or complex problems including recommended process improvements. - Researching statutory requests and/or financial/operational reporting requirements and providing details to management in an effort to assist with a response. - Serving as subject matter expert in data analysis and the use of technology (i.e.; COGNOS, MS Office and Claim Platform applications). - Partners with the line of business in the resolution of system issues related to Legal Precision and other claim applications. - Assisting in resolving assigned claim or expense issues as well as completing various special projects. - Assisting with onboarding and training of Operations team employees. Enterprise Contributions: - Performing quality contacts to assist as a result of catastrophic claim events - Creating efficiencies by recommending alternative workflows EDUCATION/COURSE OF STUDY: Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent work experience. WORK EXPERIENCE: Skilled in the utilization of appropriate information systems technology to improve the efficiency of data management reporting tools. Solid research, organizational, analysis and summarization skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize daily assignments Must be highly organized with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail is a must Demonstrates strong technical proficiency in analytical skills. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to manage customer service requests, provide information to Claim Professionals and to respond to oral and written instructions. COMPUTER SKILLS: Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) skills required. Ability to learn new applications in a department with the most advanced and continually improving computer platforms Working knowledge of Access a plus.
