Claims Adjuster –
Full Job Description
To handle claims effectively in respect of the class(es) of business designated to the individual within specified personal limits and in accordance with claims processes and procedures.
- Application of company reserving philosophy
- Referring claims above authority levels in a timely fashion
- Administer bordereau for delegated authority claims
- Referral point for Cover holders and Third Party Administrators
- Communicating with brokers including face to face negotiations
- Instructing and liaising with solicitors and adjusters from agreed panel
- Liaising with underwriters on claims issues
- Knowledge of coverage`s, benefits and exclusions in respect of Casualty claims, specifically Professional Indemnity and Liability
- Understanding and application of legal and regulatory issues relating to the policy wordings and the class of business
- Understanding and application of claims handling processes in relation to ECF-ECF2
- Understanding and application of standard processes and procedures in the London market
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel
- Good negotiation skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Team player combined with a positive attitude to new challenges
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and ability to identify appropriate sources of learning
