Position Summary

The Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling automobile and property and/or injury claims on behalf of Wawanesa Insurance. This position includes a company vehicle as out of office travel is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

Examines, settles and processes claims within a prescribed level of authority, you will determine legal liability of damage to persons and property
Fosters working relationships with various third parties, including claimants, contractors/suppliers and other insurance companies
Investigates losses through consultation with appraisers and third party adjusters, including obtaining statements from insureds, witnesses and police in determining liability
Provides timely and effective communication of decisions to claimants
Qualifications

2-3 years related work experience
Strong customer service, inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills
Proven negotiation, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent computer literacy and keyboarding skills
CIP designation preferred
