Claims Specialist Engineering recruitment
Job Description
The position holder is responsible for maintaining Swiss Re's risk profitability through applying and keeping up sound claims management practices, identifying and driving client's claims strategies and provision of service excellence to clients. The main goals of the position will be to
- effectively manage (from first to settlement, including subrogation) a portfolio of Construction and Engineering claims
- predominantly Onshore CAR EAR, Boiler Machinery and Operational Risks throughout Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Eastern Europe
- negotiate and defend Swiss Re's position where appropriate
- interact with internal and external customers and service providers in a positive fashion, including the provision of full data transparency for the portfolio The position holder will have full responsibility and accountability for claims handling decisions within prescribed financial authority level. Key Accountabilities
- drive the portfolio of Construction and Engineering claims under Management to the best possible resolution
- key external client contact and internal Subject Matter Expert
- monitoring relevant claims portfolios to detect trends and issues affecting our results
- assist team leader in holding timely external and internal claims strategy meetings for key clients, bringing in all disciplines as required (claims, actuarial, underwriting, product, client markets)
- delivery of client claims service through aligning interests and efforts and building positive relationships
- planning and conducting claims audits, assisting clients to improve claims standards
- drive and share experience, knowledge and information across all divisions e.g. actuarial, underwriting etc.
- contribute to business initiatives and projects ensuring relevant claims issues in broader company activities
Requirements
- PC claims experience with a preference in construction all risk (CAR) and/or erection all risk (EAR), Boiler Machinery and Operational Risks including Business Interruption
- understanding of relevant best practice issues and initiatives
- analytical and negotiation skills
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- solution orientation
- excellent interpersonal skills
- degree in Engineering
- understanding relevant Construction/Engineering Markets
- fluent spoken/written English and German (other languages desirable)
