CLAIMS TRAINEE - BACHELOR'S DEGREE HIGHLY PREFERRED

CNA Insurance is currently hiring individuals to be Commercial Auto Physical Damage Claim Adjusters in Reading, PA. We are seeking both experienced and entry-level trainee candidates for these roles. Bachelor’s degree is highly desired for all candidates. The hired individuals will start as a group on February 1, 2012.Workers' compensation, general liability and commercial auto are examples of the insurance coverage we provide to businesses. We will train you on how to adjust claims made by insureds for these types of coverages. The training includes classroom instructor-led training alternating with on-the-job training to apply concepts learned in the classroom. Job Summary: Under close supervision, learns claims practices by participating in formal and on-the-job training for a specified period of time. Essential Duties Responsibilities: 1. Reviews policy coverages and claims documentation in accordance with company guidelines and standards to determine if coverages apply, escalating issues as needed. 2. Participates in the settlement of claims within prescribed limits in most cost effective manner and ensures timely issuance of disbursements. 3. Learns and participates in claims resolution activities which may include but are not limited to setting reserves, performing investigations, working with outside parties, and preparing management reports and other communications. 4. May update the claims systems. 5. Carries out responsibilities consistently, dependably and accurately. May perform additional duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge Abilities Required: 1. Strong desire to develop knowledge and understanding of claims practices. 2. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop positive business relationships.

3. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively handle conflict.4. Strong ability to identify, analyze, investigate and solve problems as well as the ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to change. 5. Ability to make decisions based on logic and good judgment.

6. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

7. Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure with time constraints and deadlines.7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

8. Experienced APD Claim Adjusters with 1-3 years of experience are encouraged to apply, but prior experience is not required.Education Experience Required: 1. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

2. Successful completion of the required exams during the training program.
