Clearing Analyst – High Frequency Prop Firm recruitment
The Clearing Analyst will be part of the global Clearing Team, though running day to day London clearing operations. This position is part of a group that manages the processes involved with identifying and resolving various clearing and reconciliation issues. This role will also work closely with the UK Management Team in growing out our exchange relationships and taking responsibility for London's day to day settlement issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist the Chicago based Clearing Team the UK Director of Operations with the daily trade processing, allocations and reconciliations
* Assist in the long-term growth of the UK Clearing and Settlements operations
* Reconcile brokerage commissions to ensure exchange charges are accurate
* Perform top-day and next-day position balancing
* Efficient resolution of trade related issues as they occur (i.e. futures and cash trading)
* Learn and manage all new clearing processes as necessary
* Work closely with the trading community and trade desk personnel
* Proactive in anticipating problems and making useful recommendations resulting in reduced costs for greater profitability, productivity and improved quality of customer service
Required Skills and Experience:
* Direct experience within a High Frequency trading environment/team
* Knowledge of clearing procedures, exchange systems, futures expiration and deliveries
* Experience with all futures (domestic and international), cash Fixed Income, cash FX and cash equities
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to exercise good judgement and pro-active decision-making skills both independently and collaboratively with team members, peers and management in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
* Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) to both internal and external contacts on a global basis while maintaining composure during stressful situations
* Ability to develop productive working relationships within the current clearing team, as well as with the trading community
* Good understanding of the European equity settlement clearing process
* Experience with clearing through European exchanges
* Strong knowledge of Excel and experience of scripting (Python or Perl)
* A strong attention to detail and desire to maintain accuracy while processing large volumes of data under strict time constraints
* Educated to bachelors-degree level (economics/mathematics/related field)
* Ideally Eurex QBO
* Any experience with Sungard's Ubix is desirable
