Clerk for the Office of General Counsel Job in San Francisco 94111, California US

Qualifications: We are currently seeking a full-time Clerk for the Firm's Office of General Counsel ("OGC") in San Francisco. The OGC includes the general counsel and two assistant general counsel whose duties include, inter alia, the review of all New Matter Intakes for conflicts, lateral conflicts clearance and the drafting of waivers when needed.  The OGC Clerk should have at least two years of experience in a conflicts department of a law firm or other relevant experience.

 

Responsibilities: 

§  The OGC Clerk will assist the lawyers in the OGC. 

§  Job responsibilities include aiding the OGC in reviewing and analyzing routine conflicts of interest reports, identifying and summarizing potential conflicts, handling other issues related to new business Intake, drafting waiver letters, preparing ethical wall memos and other support related functions for new business Intake and the firm's OGC. 


Experience and Education:
§  Minimum of two years of experience in a conflicts department of a law firm or similar relevant experience.
§  Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
§  Strong understanding of conflicts-of-interest, business intake procedures in a law firm environment.
§  Proven experience utilizing LegalKey Conflicts or similar management system.
§  Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
§  Advanced skills in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
§  Working knowledge of database queries and report writing.
§  Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
§ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
