Client Director, Institutional Business recruitment

As one of the world's leading emerging markets asset management businesses, through its network of offices in more than 30 countries and territories around the world, HSBC Global Asset Management has strong relationships with corporates, institutions and financial intermediaries of all sizes and types.   We are looking for a proven senior sales executive to join Global Asset Management Singapore as Client Director, Institutional Business.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Responsible for institutional business development and overall relationship management in South East Asia

• Work closely with CEO Singapore, Head of Institutional Sales, Asia Pacific, investment and product specialists, colleagues in Global Asset Management (Asia and elsewhere) as well as Global Banking and markets to maximize Asset Under Management (AUM) and revenue opportunities from this market

• Response to sales enquiries or requests completely, accurately and in a timely manner

• Submit sales activity, pipeline and call reports in a timely manner for management’s review

• Develop excellent working relationship with Asset Management colleagues, Client Proposition (local and global) and business stakeholders eg bank distribution channels such as Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Payment and Cash Management

• Liaise with other internal units to accomplish task (eg Compliance, Marketing, Operations, Investment Management)

• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions and external regulatory requirements when selling and marketing

• Attend relevant training to fulfill required training hours and self-development

Skills/Attributes

• Proven track record (5-7 years +) in asset management institutional business development. It is important that the job holders have been responsible for sales and not limited to relationship management.

• Proven experience of building successful business relationships within one or more key client segments (corporates, banks, sovereign wealth, pensions, insurers etc) Confidence in discussing economic theory and its application and bank products and services to the sector generally is an advantage

• Geographical experience in one (or more) key geographies in South East Asia or broader Asia

• Fluency in English is required.  Ability to speak Mandarin a plus

• Knowledge of HSBC Group a plus
