Client Money Controller (CASS5)

A leading Global Insurance Broker is looking to recruit a senior, qualified accountant into a newly created, Client Money Coordinator role. This position will span a number of UK regulated entities and give you responsibility for leading a project to implement changes coming from the new Client Money rule book. This is a high profile appointment in the group finance team and will offer you excellent exposure and the opportunity to progress.

There are two key elements to this role. Firstly will be a large scale project spanning all aspects of client money and the implementation of new CASS5A rules. With the business currently investing heavily in regulation and governance, the changes you want to make will be given the full backing of the top level management teams. It is a high profile project within the organisation and will give you the opportunity to coordinate and lead a wide range of teams across the company.

Alongside the project you will also be responsible for the ongoing business as usual client money management. This will require regular monitoring of each of the client money holding businesses, driving improvements to their processes and the ongoing improvement of risk management. This position has a high level of autonomy but essentially reports to the Client Money Manager and the boards of the regulated entities. You will support them through the provision of regular reports and client money management MI.

The person our client is looking for will need to have significant exposure to CASS client money rules. Preferably this will be CASS5 from an Insurance broking business, however candidates with CASS experience from asset management or retail banks will also be considered. Aside from needing this particular exposure, you will ideally be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and will need to show evidence of full life cycle project management. This role doesn't have any direct reports but due to the scale of the project you will be leading, you will need to have considerable experience of coordinating a variety of teams and developing relationships at all levels in a business.
