To provide operational supervision of the NGS Finance team in accordance with CASS regulatory requirements, reporting both to Head of Unit Pricing the FPIS Head of Finance Operations to ensure both NGS operational and regulatory requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day client money processes, identify escalate issues and provide oversight across both CIP and CP propositions.
- Establish a strong working relationship with the Head of Finance Operations and provide all necessary information and detail where appropriate.
- Lead on the production of the monthly Client Money and Assets Report for sign off and submission to the Regulator along with raising any relevant issues to the risk committees.
- Provide data to support Actuarial Valuation, Embedded Value calculations, persistency evaluation, FSA ICAAP calculations.
- Lead and manage the Finance team supporting NGS and help in their development.
- Build and maintain relationships with 3rd party service providers to facilitate requirements for custody oversight, banking operations and platform requirements.
- Lead on all operational developments initiatives affecting Finance systems, interfaces and change management to ensure alignment and controlled implementation of new business and regulatory rule changes
- Establish and cultivate relationships with Operations senior management to ensure that all are aware of their responsibilities and any proposed changes to regulation with regard to Client Money.
- Provide support in the production of board paper for the Monthly Client Money and Assets Governance Risk committees (TBC) and attend in absence of Head of Finance Operations.
- Keep informed on new regulations through attending forums and assist the Head of Finance Operations in responding to all identified issues and new regulatory requirements impacting the Client Money and Assets process.

Essential
Qualifications
- Investment Operations Certificate or equivalent, sufficient to meet the FSA Training and Competence rules for supervision of the handling of client money.

Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of the UK financial services and regulatory framework with particular reference to the CASS Sourcebook
- Knowledge of the Investment and/or Life Pensions market, products and procedures, appropriate to role
- Knowledge of TCF principles
- Good working knowledge of financial analysis and control
Experience
- Experience in the supervision of client money reconciliations
- Experience in risk management and control
- Experienced in dealing cross functionally
- Able to demonstrate effective working relationships with senior colleagues and regulators within a regulated environment
- At least five years experience in the financial services industry, with a minimum 2 years of that experience within a compliance-related environment
Desirable
- Preferred degree level or industry equivalent
- Effective team management and development
- Corporate platforms supporting SIPPs, ISAs
- Compliance background, understanding of outsourced administration services
