Client Onboarding – Prime Services, Futures & OTC Clearing recruitment

Prime Services is a rapidly growing area of HSBC, where the current drive is to maintain and scale the client onboarding function. This is a client facing onboarding role where the candidate will assist in owning the end-to-end technical client onboarding for the prime services client base through supporting the onboarding business to perform the technical connectivity tasks with the client, fund administrators and middle office providers.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Management delivery of client onboarding tasks as required by the Prime onboarding business.

• Providing technical advice to the business and client, for what solution will best suit the client / trade flow / go-live timeframe.

• Owning the complete trade life cycle and co-ordinating tracking/completion of required tasks, in essence project managing each client onboarding.

• Co-ordination of client trade file / reporting setup and connecting testing between clients / vendors and the internal test teams.

• Build solid working relationships with clients, onboarding business, vendors and fund administrators

• Develop document designs and procedures for comprehensive handover of solutions to the Production Support

• Proactively manage issues to a successful conclusion, following up as necessary. Escalating to line management for advice, before a wider update on impact / next steps.

• Produce metrics on client onboarding tasks, anticipated SLA’s as well as an onboarding checklist template – so that a simple list of all the onboarding tasks needed for a particular type of onboarding can be obtained.

• Review the current workflow and offer any solutions to make the process more efficient (e.g. obtaining additional information up front from the business / client to aid setup solutions at the beginning).

• Be flexible prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, as business needs dictate.

• Liaise closely with other team members (globally) to achieve onboarding goals.

• Share onboarding best practices between the regions, to ensure we all benefit from efficient methods

• When required, chair the weekly onboarding meeting and provide a weekly status update communication of all actions for all clients being onboarded with the business.

• Liaise with and manage vendors / 3rd parties technically to ensure deliveries are on time and on budget. Diagnose issues quickly.

• Be part of a shared client onboarding team between Futures, OTC Clearing and Prime Services

The successful candidate will ideally have both client onboarding and prime brokerage experience and exceleent communication skills to be able to interact and work well with clients, vendors, internal business and other IT groups.

You will also need:

• Strong Project Management skills

• Strong client / vendor / senior business facing skills

• Good Prime Brokerage Business knowledge (Equity and Equity Swap products)

• An excellent understanding and working knowledge of the trade life cycle and software development life cycle.

• Strong co-ordination and analytical skills

• Good Business Analyst skills

• Experience of working in a Investment banking, client onboarding environment

• Good technical IT skills

• Strong skills in supporting trade file and reporting processing
