BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Client Onboarding (COB) is a global department within Securities Operations responsible for facilitating the establishment and maintenance of a client relationship with the firm, including, but not limited to due diligence, supporting documentation and account opening. It consists of two divisions including Client Due Diligence and Client Data Management. COB strives to deliver a streamlined, global, cross-product onboarding experience for Goldman Sachs clients. The teams within COB are divided within New Jersey, Salt Lake City, London, Bangalore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Onboarding team (COB) is looking for an energetic, proactive and detailed-orientated individual to support our Client Due Diligence (CDD) functions. CDD is responsible for ensuring compliance with “Know Your Client” (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) standards.

The individual will review and approve all account requests submitted by our sales desks from all departments; primarily in Australia, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore offices. This includes accounts for both new client relationships as well as new sub-accounts for existing clients.  There will be opportunities to participate in a range of developmental projects, mainly focusing on procedures development, process improvement initiatives enhancing our controls.

The candidate should have an understanding of and exposure to reviewing client documentation or familiarity with different institutional client structures, including hedge funds. Having some project management experience would be beneficial towards improving processes.

The candidate requires strong communication (verbal written) interpersonal skills to multi-task effectively and manage internal external clients. The candidate should also be able to provide solutions to mitigate risk in our business

The candidate will be responsible for:
• Reviewing client documents and ensuring conformity to KYC and AML standards
• Answering queries on account opening procedures from clients and the desks
• Grant approvals upon fulfillment of documentation requirements
• Capacity Suitability checks for derivatives account openings
• Administer the documentation filing system

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY
• 3+ years experience in international AML/KYC or Compliance
• Experienced in communicating with salespeople, legal / compliance officers and clients’ back office
• Experienced at negotiation and dealing with conflicts with salespeople, legal/compliance and clients
• Fluent at business level in Mandarin and Cantonese

PREFERRED
• Experienced at identify pressure points offer new ideas to tackle problems
• Strong at Excel
• Experienced at multi-tasking and working under pressure and to tight deadlines
