Role summary
The Client Relations Manager acts as a link between Senior Manager and associates to ensure business processes are appropriately managed and constantly improved. In conjunction with Senior Manager, manages teamwork and its effectiveness and ensures the team’s goals and objectives are met.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions
- Leads accurate, clear, timely, communication with clients on queries
- Identifies queries and ensures timely follow up and quality responses are provided by the team.
- Prioritizes internal and external client requests and actively ensures that clients’ needs are met.
- Manages analyses of client requests and balances client needs with organizational impacts.
- Leads new client account process
- Contributes actively to the opening of new institutional and retail accounts.
- Monitors and manages workflow, procedures and end results of new account initialization.
- Coordinates and facilitates the new accounts working group meeting.
- Manages Projects
- Plans, prioritizes, delegates and coordinates projects within area. Monitors and confirms status with senior manager, clients and staff.
- Reviews Investment Management Agreement (IMA), guidelines, and documentation
- Reviews IMAS, guidelines, and client communication.
- Confirms documentation and communication are compliant with regulatory policies.
- Serves as a resource and responds to other CG offices/business units for general questions
- Communicates effectively across multiple CG business areas based on understanding of business functions, office cultures and context of requests.
- Manages the business
- Ensures the highest level of service is efficiently delivered.
- Ensures established guidelines are followed within team.
- Establishes individual/team goals and objectives for associates to support business area objectives.
- Proactively reviews team processes and work products to identify risk, and assure best practices are aligned with current business needs.
- Provides guidance concerning operational issues, technical questions, business processes and management issues.
- Manages associates
- Manages performance and development of each team member.
- Participates in the interview process and selection of new associates.
- Recommends salary increases, transfers, and promotions for staff.
- Appropriately applies Human Resources guidelines and procedures (works closely with Human Resources when appropriate).
- Serves as a positive role model for other associates.
- Manages the environment
- Models appropriate communication, decision making and interaction skills.
- Builds and supports a strong team.
- Communicates with other internal managers and senior managers primarily on operational, technical, and/or project related issues.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Skills/qualifications
- A tertiary qualification is preferred.
- At least 7 years’ related experience including a minimum of 3 years in management role.
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders, and a diverse group of individuals outside the organization.
- Demonstrates ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
- Demonstrates sound judgment in resolving matters of moderate complexity.
- Demonstrates ability to effectively plan and manage the work of others.
- Demonstrates initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Demonstrates ability to influence others.
- Demonstrates effective and professional service orientation and builds appropriate rapport with internal and external contacts.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of financial industry, client services, portfolio administration, operations, reporting and results analysis. Exhibits knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area
