Client Relationship Manager

Director of Facilities
Job Summary:
HHMI's Janelia Farm Research Campus has a multi-year assignment for an Internal Client Relationship Manager (CRM). The CRM is Facilities primary technical resource responding to scientists facility-related needs, concerns and questions. This position is the departmental subject matter expert (SME) on scientist desires, requirements and communication protocols. This position forms part of the departments internal governance team.
The Internal Client Relationship Manager furthers manages the day-to-day interface between the Facilities, Scientific Services and Laboratory Support Services departments
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop a sound understanding of scientist facility-related needs vs. facility current and potential capabilities
- Develop sound working relationships with the scientific community
- Lead the department's technical response to scientists' facility-related needs, problems, concerns, and questions:
- Plan, organize, lead and control investigations into identified problems and /or opportunities
- Liaison between Facilities Management (FM) and Project teams to resolve and document problems and opportunities
- Review final documentation for completeness and technical correctness prior to transfer. Transfer of technical documentation to FM team
- In conjunction with FM team, and for scientific needs and programs, manage facility-related:
- Change control discipline and documentation
- Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA) and continuous improvement activities
- Planning and budgeting of major initiatives
- Management of the day-to-day interface between the Facilities, Scientific Services and Laboratory Support Services Departments
- Periodic review of FM team service levels and compliance with required standards
- Other work in support of Facilities' mission as directed by Facilities Department management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline or Associate's degree with extensive relevant experience
- BOMI Facilities Management Certificate (FMC) or similar body of examined knowledge preferred
- 15 years experience in building operations, maintenance or project execution in a regulated GxP environment
- Direct experience with complex technical investigations in a regulated GxP environment
- Direct experience with successful delivery of service to demanding internal clients
- Direct experience with execution of work under change control, CAPA and continuous improvement disciplines and practices
- Direct experience with generation, collation, review and transfer of technical project documentation
- Direct experience in a performance-based metrics-driven facilities management environment
