Responsibilities

Drives Strategic Account Management (SAM) initiatives for Alliance Data and the Client’s business.  Manages account team to ensure the account SAM plan is developed and executed on time and as planned.  Provides regular updates to senior leadership. 

 

Leverages Business Insights (BI) reporting and key metrics to identify growth opportunities.   Transforms business information and data into Critical Few Initiatives (CFIs) via the account management process by building a foundational business case for each initiative.  Conducts new idea generation activities during the appropriate stage of the account management process to create new activities around each CFI.

 

Partners with Business Insight team to establish assumptions and create comprehensive forecasts and budget. Responsible for delivering on forecasted revenue and profitability targets throughout the year, while continually re-adjusting forecast and budget based on existing client trends.

 

Establishes a comprehensive understanding of client’s business needs, to influence and drive creative solutions. Has a broad understanding of the client’s competitive landscape, and is able to leverage that into opportunities for growth. Can lead cross functional discussions with internal partners to review business intelligence around the client, competitors, and marketplace.  

 

Drives strategy and vision for the overall growth of the portfolio.   Leads strategic direction for meetings between key client contacts and Alliance Data to discuss marketing plans, cross-sell new products, resolve open issues and provide progress updates.

 

Manages the implementation of new clients to ensure execution of collateral, marketing plans and overall SAM plan. 

 

Serves as the primary relationship manager between assigned clients and Alliance Data internal teams.  Ensures the resolutions of escalated issues related to marketing programs, call center operations, and store operations.  Guides  issue resolution communication with Sales Support team and follows through with client when necessary.

 

Provides coaching to Managers and Coordinators and creates mentoring opportunities for learning and development.  Conducts touch bases with direct reports on a regular basis.  Works with associates to create development plans based on their goals and level of performance.  Guides associate behavior by leading with and demonstrating attitudinal leadership.  Demonstrates leadership by training of peers and/or direct reports and being viewed as a knowledge resource.     


Qualifications

Knowledge of Retail environment.  Knowledge of sales and marketing concepts and principles (segmentation, offer strategies, testing strategy, seasonal planning, email, multi-channel marketing concepts).  Knowledge of how to review data that includes analysis based on statistical methods and other advanced statistical concepts.

 

Strong analytical skills and familiarity with budgeting and business analysis.  Professional demeanor with superior interpersonal and (verbal and written) communication skills, including the ability to influence others and be a strong negotiator. Demonstrated leadership qualities and skills to lead a team and provide direction. 

 

Ability to interact with a variety of individuals within all levels of the organization, building and maintaining productive relationships. Excellent project/time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.  Proven ability to build and manage internal and external relationships.  Ability to facilitate effective group presentations/discussions.  Ability to maintain confidential information.  Ability to identify and resolve problems.  Aptitude for detail and accuracy. 

 

Some travel required, including overnight stays.

 Minimum Qualifications: 

Education:  Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent education/and or related experience.

 

Experience:  Seven years experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations or strong related credit experience.  Two years supervisory experience. 

 

Desirable:  Detailed understanding of credit related systems, retail, and proprietary credit card practices.  Specific credit-related sales experience.  Masters Degree.
