Client Service Manager, Institutional Private Client

The Performance Measurement and Client Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful and accurate production of end-client reports on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis as well as portfolio-, security- and composite-level performance data for the team’s clients.  The successful candidate should possess a proven, in-depth understanding of performance measurement and end-client reporting for both institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients in the financial services industry.  He or she must demonstrate strong client service skills to meet or exceed the needs of SEI and our clients
This individual must also train and manage client reporting and performance measurement supervisors, specialists and analysts and strictly enforce the departmental policies and procedures required to service investment managers.
Primary responsibilities include monitoring, validation and analysis of portfolio performance data within SEI’s performance measurement applications, problem-solving by researching activity and interacting with a variety of clients, custodians and system vendors, developing and documenting performance measurement workflows and procedures, and managing client on-boarding projects to load current and historic performance-related data.
The position requires the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment while meeting all application daily deadlines; excellent communication and computer skills.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the Financial Services or Investment Management industries dealing with multiple asset classes in a global environment.  Experience with the Advent suite of software products and/or First Rate performance system is a plus.
The responsibilities for this position include:

• Serve as main performance and client reporting contact for a range of clients
• Maintain a good working relationship with external clients as well as with internal relationship and account managers
• Develop, create and document client implementation and operational day-to-day policies, workflows and procedures
• Ensure day-to-day deadlines and policies are met and, where possible, exceeded
• Partner with solution design and technology teams on build-out of operational platform
• Provide system support
• Provide leadership to the assigned operational team members as well as other core middle-office team members; this includes (but is not limited to) training and coaching on general investment management topics, investment accounting, performance measurement, GIPS, risk measurement and analysis and general management skills
• Design and implement an on-going enhancement of operational risk management metrics and measurements
• Provide sales support for SEI’s core middle-office service offering
• Contribute to SEI’s Knowledge Partnership on performance and client reporting topics

Position Requirements

Required Experiences and Skills
• BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field required
• CIPM certification required (or to be obtained within one year)
• Minimum of 5 years of  investment management operations / performance experience
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience
• Detailed knowledge of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®)
• Thorough understanding of investment performance measurement, investment accounting and client reporting
• A detailed oriented and flexible team player
• Ability to adapt to short-term product deliverables
• Ability to work under pressure
• Individual who takes initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge and expertise of the Advent Geneva and First Rate systems preferred
• Solid PC skills required (MS Office, etc.)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside.  The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
