Client Services Assistant Accountant recruitment
Purpose:
To provide a high quality Accounting and Administration Service to our Clients and play a key role in ensuring both internal and external deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard. You will be expected to contribute towards improving processes through increased efficiency or reduced risk to the business. You will be expected to develop the technical and managerial skills required to progress to a Client Services Accountant role.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing accounts to internal deadlines and to a standard suitable for first review by an Accountant
- Ensuring that adequate training has been received and support provided in order to complete the role and be proactive in defining areas needing attention or support
- Knowledge of designated clients including understanding the key technical points
- Knowledge of Client deliverables and early escalation of issues to direct report
- Adhering to company policies and procedures
Tasks/Duties:
- Deliver quality accounting information to agreed timeframes
- Attend relevant client meetings to build profile with client
- Calculate and prepare Drawdown and Distribution notices in accordance with agreed internal deadlines for first review
- Prepare ad hoc analysis for review
- Prepare client KPIs for first review by Accountant
- Ensure all client queries are appropriately responded to on a timely basis
- Initiate payments and amendments to standing data with the data processing team
- Liaise with client auditors
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations on all client accounts
Fee Processes:
- Prepare monthly invoices in accordance with fee agreements and on a timely basis
- Accurate daily completion of timesheets for all hours worked
Systems:
Understand and use best practice on Investran, the company’s primary accounting system
Risk:
- Ensure relevant procedures and checklists are adhered to and completed to minimise risk of errors
- Report any breaches, complaints or errors to Accountant and Compliance officer promptly
- Draft error reports, identifying areas of operational risk and proposing appropriate remedial actions within 24 hours of identifying the error
Other:
Undertake any additional reasonable requests as deemed by the firm
Qualifications and Experience Required for this Role
Essential:
- Successfully completed a level 2 of ACCA or a Professional Managerial level of CIMA or have equivalent experience
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience of providing financial information for review, including preparation of financial statements
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable communicating with individuals at senior levels
- Strong ownership of tasks
- Can do attitude, ability to cope with tight deadlines and working under pressure
- Strong team ethic
Desired:
- Knowledge of the industry is desirable but not essential
- Advanced Excel skills
