Client Support Administration/Back Office Engineer in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the JRDC program. Position can be filled at Schriever AFB, CO, Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, or Dahlgren, VA.
Complete Description: Responsible for supporting the MDA Enterprise IT organization on the JRDC program for the desktop productivity tools and services through incident, problem, and knowledge management. Will work within the boundaries of change, release, and configuration management for all updates to the MDA standards. Will create and maintain processes and procedures in coordination with the process and services owners. Duties include designing changes to meet current and future system requirements, writing change requests to document design objectives, documenting step-by-step implementation instructions, researching and writing IT related white papers. Will create and manage client images, applications installation and patching using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Provide support to the IT maintenance staff for identifying and resolving IT related outages. Position requires supporting, communicating and briefing top level VIP customers. Primary duty hours are 0600–1900 (eastern), Monday - Friday, but may require on-call service or working 2nd shift and weekend hours as necessary to support troubleshooting, testing, and exercise support requirements.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or IT Management and a minimum of 8 years of experience designing and implementing Windows based networks. Must have experience with Group Policy Management both local and domain. Must have experience with Windows XP and Windows 7. Must have experience creating, advertising, and managing client images using SCCM. Must have thorough understanding DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance (IA) programs to include IAVA mitigations and CVT scans. Additional essential qualifications for a successful candidate include being goal oriented, having a strong commitment to a team environment, an ability to quickly adapt to new situations, and good communication skills. Must have DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one. Occasional travel may be required. Must have a strong analytical background with accompanying troubleshooting skills. Per DoD 8570, certified Security+, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Requirements: Windows 2008 MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional), Firm understanding of DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guide) and JTF-GNO (Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations) CTOs (Communications Tasking Order). A willingness to learn new technologies such as Symantec Endpoint Encryption and Virtual Desktop Initiative.
