Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients. This is achieved through origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank's corporate and government clients.
Corporate Banking Solutions (CBS) is the end to end Product Management view of commercial banking products sold to IBM and BPB customers to provide a robust and competitive offering. CBS delivers dynamic banking solutions to improve our clients' businesses and support Australia's economic development.
Global Trade Transactional Services (GTTS) provides international transactional and working capital services meeting client needs across payments and trade finance.
Role Purpose:
Within the broad context of Working Capital Solutions for Business and Institutional customers, the Global Trade and Transaction Services team manages a portfolio of commercial banking products to support domestic and international transactions together with the underlying payment flows. This includes foreign currency transaction accounts, payments clearing accounts for foreign banks, payables, receivables and Trade Finance products. These are delivered through electronic and face-to-face service and sales channels located within the CBS, BPB and IBM business units within Australia and delivered via the International Financial Services (IFS) and IBM offices around the world.
It is the role of the Global Trade and Transaction Services team to maintain an end-to-end view of the product encompassing financial management, marketing, sales, operations, technology, customer service, Credit and Operational risk profiles.
The Client Solutions Associate works in a team to service existing and new to bank high value clients for their export, structured commodity and financial institution needs.
Key Accountabilities:
The Client Solutions Associate, Trade Solutions is responsible for working within a team that manages the end to end delivery of Trade Solutions across the Group working closely with Sales, Product Management and Operations teams to ensure delivery of strategy in line with the Group's Global Trade Finance strategies and Risk Appetite Statement. Specifically across the CBA Group this involves:
- Providing exceptional service to clients on their trade finance needs
- Transaction processing of traditional and structured trade finance products
- Facility implementation of traditional and structured trade finance products
- Assist with client account management in defending and growing client base
- Supporting sales channels and trade sales specialists
- Collaborate with product management, operations and sales teams to ensure growth
- Awareness of trends and developments in the trade environment
- Comply with Bank policies, controls and frameworks, reporting any issues affecting the team to management and complying with all escalation protocols to minimise risk
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Knowledge of the global trade environment and the domestic trade industry, including International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP) rules
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environment
- Detailed knowledge of all trade finance processes, the trade settlement process, the documentation and systems used internationally to facilitate trade finance.

- Understanding of risk management covering Operational Risk, Compliance, Credit Risk, Sovereign Risk, Market Risk
- Financial and technical literacy
