Description
RBS Client Valuations Team have several offices i.e. Singapore , London, Manchester and New York present in which the teams work closely together in providing a dedicated and independent valuations services to clients across all products traded in the MIB business across all asset classes in order to enhance transparency , reduce risk and improve operational efficiency. Our client base includes the most significant institutional participants in the financial marketplace.
- Strong control environment, evidence through MI. The MI will have to be developed, centralised and maintained in an automated fashion
- Review, and enhance the current environment. Get business input and buy in around CVT client offering, and integrate additional clients into iVal Work in tandem with the Change team in order to prioritise change work stack, with the aim to increase the STP rate, and reduce the manual effort required by the team.
- Responsible for the team, and people management. This role has 4 Direct reports, and for each of them it is expected that objectives, PDP, and regular performance meetings will be in place.
- Responsible for influencing and prioritising the change agenda, providing supporting evidence to get change work stack organised in a way that suits the business needs.
- Responsible for the Exotics control environment, ensuring that MI/KPI/KRI are maintained accurately. • Set up and Maintain people objectives • Manage Top Talent Low performers accordingly • Ensure that regular one to one are held with each member on staff as per HR guidelines (manager handbook)
- Ensure that meetings and huddles are held on a regular basis, ensuring that the team globally is aware of initiatives driven out of the region.
- Look at ways to continually improve the efficiency of the process and exploit opportunities to create STP.
Requirements
- This role will be reporting functionally to the Head of Client Valuations - APAC (ex Japan) and will manage the client valuation services offered on a variety of products including but not limited to Equity Derivatives, Structured Notes/Bonds issues, Fixed Income securities and Structured Credit transactions, FX, FX options, Interest Rate Derivatives.
- Be a central point of contact for clients on valuations and responding / resolving their queries in a timely and professional manner and having to build strong working relationships with various front and back offices departments globally.
- Manage Team resourcing and capacity including review and approval of holiday schedules to ensure the department has effective structure and adequate resources to support business.
- Ensure a strong control framework and minimise negative reputation impacts and operational losses.
- Review and implement controls on valuations processes including KRI/KPI reporting.
- Resolve all issues / conflicts in a timely and customer orientated manner.
- Work together with the global management group within Client Valuations globally
- Manage IT development issues, analysis and prioritisation schedule in coordination with Client Valuations Management and Change Teams.
- Managing the planning, testing and implementation of projects and systems developments and data quality to deliver improved business results and contributing to the implementation of the organisation's vision and strategic direction.
- Support and implement integration initiative under Unicorn and the migration of platforms between PLC and NV
- Conduct discussions on Performance Objectives and Performance Review of team members, including informal one-to-ones.
- Manage and maintain Manual Procedures and Business Continuity Plans for Exotics Valuation Team Singapore.
- Development and maintenance of MI Stats and translating data gathered for useful management decisions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments within Equity Operations regionally and globally.
- Ensure that the global escalation framework is consistently utilised.
- Ensure that all regulatory and compliance targets are maintained/achieved.
- Provide direction, leadership and inspiration to the Exotic Client Valuations Team in Singapore. Promote a strong team culture within the department.
- Support and enhance external customer and internal business relationships.
- Conduct analysis that will increase team efficiency and team productivity.
Experience
Essential:
- Strong product knowledge in a least one-product area with proven ability to understand other product areas
- Proven people management experience.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
Desirable:
- Middle Office/Trader Support or customer facing role
Qualifications
Essential:
- A university degree in Finance or equivalent
Desirable:
- Previous experience in Middle office / trade support or customer facing roles IAQ or Similar
Technical Competence:
Essential:
- Detailed knowledge of the front to back process in an investment banking environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple product systems
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Desirable:
- Detailed knowledge about the market practice of Client Valuations Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
