JOB SUMMARY:

**The Client Workstation Administrator's role is to coordinate/implement all activities for the EPIC team as it relates to design, engineering, installation, support and management of the EPIC project (Inpatient and Ambulatory) workstations and end-user client devices. Ensures all EPIC client level applications are correctly installed in the NHRMC environment and appropriate performance benchmarks are established using EPIC and NHRMC preferred monitoring tools. The Client Workstation Administrator is the central point of communication for all technical aspects of the EPIC client software installations and support.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1. To analyze, configure, install, maintain and support client software and hardware for the EPIC end user workstations and peripherals.

2. Implements and leads IS client services EPIC projects.

3. Coordinates with other stakeholders and defines procedures and policies for the protection of users and NHHN data.

4. Maintains knowledge of current and leading edge client level technologies.

5. Coordinates and manages the implementation rollout schedules including budgetary forecasting.

6. Leads and manages the technical reference library's and documentation for the IS organization as it relates to the EPIC client level requirements, designs, and configuration management database (CMDB).

7. Works with technical support vendors to resolve end-user issues and problems.

8. Analyze current state equipment/ workstations that need to be upgraded and where new workstations will be required based on workflow.

9. Identify local file and print server needs and configure systems to fit those needs.

10. Engineer the initial workstation and terminal server configuration and deploy it to new and existing workstations.

11. Manages the deployment of updates and new releases for existing workstations and terminal servers at a frequency determined by EPIC and the project team.

12. Engineers with the Network Operations team to ensure continuity and stable connectivity between the client devices and the server.

13. Analyzes with the Network Operations team to assist with capacity planning and Citrix server sizing

14. Engineers and analyzes statistics with the Network Operations team to establish a baseline for system performance and monitor it regularly using EPIC tools and NHRMC's Vantage monitoring tools.

15. Provide training and serve as a resource for other system support and help desk staff regarding Epic workstation setup.

16. Catalog current devices and provide location maps for use in order transmittal routing planning.

17. Work with Client Services to ensure all machines (including downtime PCs) are labeled with appropriate identifiers for asset management.

18. Demonstrates standard of performance (ownership, teamwork communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.

19. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Education: BS or BA degree in IS or related business filed preferred; AA with 3 years experience, or 6 years demonstrated, commensurate and directly applicable work experience.

2. Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to assess a situation and apply analytical thinking in order to make good sound decisions.

3. Licensure / Certifications: Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) and or Citrix Certified Admin (CCA). Will be required to obtain EPIC certification within six weeks of completing training in assigned application module(s). Must maintain EPIC certification in assigned application module(s).

4. Experience: At least three years of experience with supporting MS Windows operating systems in a network environment. Prior Epic experience is not required, but is a nice to have.
