Job Summary
Support Dexcom sales, revenue and CGM category growth through clinical account management functions – specifically, focusing on targeted territory accounts to advocate and educate on the Dexcom family of products and its core brand differentiators, leverage clinical selling skills to expand CGM candidacy and support the clinical needs of a territory for both patients and healthcare providers. Drive the successful on-going product utilization with customer installed base through both HCP and patient education initiatives. Territory is Minnesota.
Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
- Advocate for the brand differentiation of the Dexcom products to physicians, diabetes educators and other health care professionals. Promote the increased prescribing practices of CGM and the Dexcom product in the local territory.
- Provide both device and CGM therapy training to health care providers. Facilitate the development of Diabetes Centers, clinics and physician offices that train on the Dexcom device utilizing the current CGM reimbursement model to emphasize the potential economic benefit of initiating CGM into the practice.
- Provide initial device training as needed to patients. Drive the efficient management of patient trainings in the local territory by encouraging group trainings, phone trainings and patient self-guided trainings as appropriate. One on one trainings should be minimal, but based on patient assessment can be implemented.
- Provide strategically placed group education classes to support the on-going use of the Dexcom products and maximize the successful use of personal CGM in the local territory.
- Support the full integration of CGM use in targeted accounts throughout the local territory using clinical account management and clinical selling skills.
- Represent Dexcom as the local clinical expert on CGM and Dexcom products. Build focused relationships with key accounts to partner with them as the CGM expert and advocate.
- Represent Dexcom at local, regional and national trade shows and diabetes exhibits to promote Dexcom products to the diabetes community.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate training records to ensure patients have been appropriately trained and submit required documents as directed by management.
- Facilitate and lead CGM education events targeted for HCPs and patients in the local territory.
- Extensive local travel and up to 40% overnight travel.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. At least 2 years of out-patient Diabetes education and management experience. Significant experience with intensive insulin managed diabetes patients preferred. At least 1 year of successful clinical selling experience in diabetes medical device or pharmaceutical sales preferred. Professional liability insurance preferred.
- Registration and/or licensure as Registered Nurse (R.N.) or Registered Dietitian (R.D.) required.
- Valid state driver’s license and automobile insurance required.
- Must have an understanding of the selling process and product advocacy, appreciation of a clinical sales role, advanced in clinical diabetes management and education practices.
- Must have a basic understanding of the managed care and medical device reimbursement environment in the U.S., and basic business principles.
- Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, patient-centric, creative, and have a sense of urgency.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with team members, healthcare professionals, and patients; ability to present to large groups on diabetes-related topics is mandatory.
- Strong time territory management, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills required.
- Must have computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suites, and various diabetes devices (meters, pumps and CGM).
- 1+ years of successful clinical selling experience in diabetes medical device or pharmaceutical sales preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE®) preferred.
- Professional liability insurance preferred.
- Must reside in the state of Minnesota.
