The Clinical Applications Specialist reporting to the Manager of Clinical Training at Alcon LenSx® Lasers working on such projects as may reasonably be assigned to him by the Director including, without limitation:
- Provide training for physicians and staff on the use of the LenSx System Platform.
- Support Clinical efforts at customer site(s) via Clinical Support Monitoring on surgery days, reviewing post-ops patient follow-up and supporting clinical data collection for completion and compliance with GCP
- Serve as CAS member of Rapid Adoption team to drive full and rapid adoption of LenSx technology
- Provide timely and accurate feedback/report to Clinical Training Clinical RD teams relating to product field performance including future design input.
- Attend support trade shows, fellowships, conferences, exhibits, seminars wet-labs as requested.
- Provide 1st line medical clinical applications phone, e-mail and on-site support for the LenSx System Platform in the Domestic marketplace.
- Act as a clinical application trainer by mentoring, coaching and assisting new employees. Function includes assisting in recruiting, interviewing, and performance development as well as on-the-job-training (OJT) of clinical application personnel within the Domestic and possibly International region.
- Support the development of individual training plans to support the on-going development of new Clinical Application Specialists.
- Support the Corporate Clinical group in the development of standardized clinical training, certification of users and MD proctors.
Requirements:
- BS/BA in biomedical field or COT/COA preferred; minimum of a High School diploma or GED certificate required.
- Ophthalmic experience is required.
- Candidates with at least three (3) years of clinical applications experience required, preferably in cataract and femtosecond laser refractive surgery.
- Professional manner, proficiency, attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to travel up to 75% to commercial sites in the U.S. and possibly International.
- Valid driver license and passport.
- Must have the ability to work inside and outside the company as a field representative.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent ability to communicate in both written and verbal manner
