OptiLink, a division of the Advisory Board Company, provides the automated scheduling, acuity, and productivity tools for managing today's healthcare workforce. All three of these core functions serve to decrease spending and increase satisfaction while maintaining an outstanding quality of care. OptiLink's scheduling system is designed to create reliable schedules that reflect the necessity of the unit, while promoting staff satisfaction by giving them control over their own schedules. Additionally, managers are able to save money and plan according to projected, budgeted, and actual numbers.
Our current opportunity is based in Portland, Oregon. This position requires 60-70% travel.
Clinical Consultant Responsibilities:
Clinical Consultants work with our members to ensure maximum utilization of our software. In this role, the consultant works onsite and offsite with hospital executives to understand how the OptiLink tool can increase productivity while decreasing workforce costs in the dynamic industry of healthcare. In addition to ensuring and optimizing software utilization, the consultant is responsible for contributing to innovative product design strategy and supporting marketing and sales efforts.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide on-site and off-site education and consultation related to OptiLink software products and services.
- Comprehend client business objectives in conjunction with clinical user requirements to translate into technical system requirements.
- Work with hospital executives to identify practical solutions to workforce management challenges
- Effectively present information and respond to escalated questions from hospital executives and clinicians
- Provide change management and process re-engineering initiatives through the application of OptiLink products and services to achieve client business objectives.
- Assist with documentation of system requirements and provide software engineers with system configuration documentation.
- Conduct presentations and technology demonstrations to senior-level prospective members; framing the OptiLink Workforce Management solution in a compelling, engaging and credible fashion
- Influence product positioning and educate Marketing and Product Management teams on best practices to acquire new business
- Conduct teleconferences to prospective members on a variety of workforce management topics
Basic Qualifications:
- One of the following Nursing degrees: BSN or RN
- 5 or more years of experience in a health care management position
- Ability and willingness to travel between 60% and 70% of work schedule
Ideal Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in a modern acute care setting or large health system
- Hospital experience as client leader for successful Healthcare IS implementation
- Familiarity with clinical information systems (EMR, Patient Documentation, CPOE, Radiology, etc.)
- Proven ability to successfully train, influence and lead staff
- Working knowledge of application systems, analyst tools, and experience with a clinical software vendors
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
