Currently, we are seeking Clinical Cytogenetics Technologists (2 full-time positions) to join our team at the Cytogenetics Laboratory. In this position, you will complete Cytogenetic analysis of body fluids/tissues from human subjects to confirm or rule out a clinical diagnosis (prenatal, perinatal and cancer). You must be proficient in all routine and special cytogenetic techniques including FISH analysis, maintenance of all pertinent equipment and lab organization. You will make and receive telephone calls, communicate efficiently with hospital personnel/physicians/patients and maintain laboratory records/statistics.  You will also be responsible for maintaining cell lines and long-term storage techniques of cell lines.  Must have knowledge of computer skills.

Required Skills:

To qualify, you will have a minimum of one year experience in clinical, cancer and molecular (FISH) Cytogenetics and a Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in medical technology or biology. New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or limited permits are required. You must obtain the limited permit within the probationary period of three months for continued employment.  Prior to obtaining the limited permit, associates may not release any patient reports.
