The Clinical Manager will coordinate and conduct individual and group patient diabetes education programs according to ADA and AADE guidelines for Certified Diabetes Educators. The responsibilities will include but is not limit: diabetes self-management skills, proper use of blood glucose monitoring equipment, carbohydrate counting instruction, medication management, chronic complications, emergency management and community resources. Diabetes education also includes insulin pump therapy technical use and special considerations related to pump therapy. Blood glucose management is routinely conducted and further individualization of patient plan of care is made in order to meet patient goals with health care provider orders. Manage Clinical Pump Consultants (CPC) team in assigned territory. This individual will collaborate with Territory Mangers (TM) to assure the territory educational goals are met. This individual will oversee educational needs in assigned territory for all patients, customers and health care professionals (HCP) and conduct educational classes that support diabetes education in relation to insulin pump therapy (IPT) and other advanced diabetes management skills. This individual will act as community CDE expert in HCP practices and provide professional educational sessions, practice visits and programs. This individual will support HCP practices pertaining to advanced diabetes management and patient care including but not limited to pattern management, journal clubs, in office patient care, and "lunch and learns". This individual recruit, train, manage mentor local CPC team and manage territory budget plan and educate and train patients on products in group settings and individually as needed. This individual will attend and support diabetes education events within assigned territories. This individual will communicate and collaborate with TMs in regards to business plan and clinical activity plan (CAP) collaborate with Blood Glucose Management team members in care of patients and partner with Clinical Field Assistant in administrative needs of the territories.
Qualifications
A minimum of AS degree is required. A minimum of a RN or RD is required. BSN, MSN, or Pharm D is preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with two years of experience is required. Certified insulin pump trainer is preferred. Prior patient care experience is preferred. Knowledge of insulin pump therapy and management of patient blood glucose levels is preferred. Experience coordinating and conducting diabetes education programs to patients, physicians, and health care professionals is preferred. Previous computer experience with MS Office is preferred. Employees will receive a company car with this position. A valid US driver's license in good standing is required. Previous experience supporting a JNJ diabetes care product is strongly preferred.
