The Clinical Nurse Specialist will demonstrate theoretical and clinical expertise in the physical, psychosocial, developmental and educational aspects of nursing care for patients and their families; work independently and also collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team; and perform as practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, administrator and change agent.
Knowledge and Skills:
The following skill set is preferred:
· Clinical expertise and experience in the clinical area of practice
· The ability to operate all types of equipment and perform special procedures in the assigned nursing area
· The ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the staff and unit on a 24 hour basis
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Formal Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing and current TX RN license
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric/neonatal nursing
