CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST - Phillips House 22
Job Description Our general surgery unit is looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. Phillips House 22 is a 19-bed premier patient care unit caring for a wide variety of medical and surgical patients, ranging in age from young adults to older adults. Our goal is to provide the highest quality patient and family centered care for a successful and safe hospital experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a master's prepared nurse with an area of specialization. The CNS promotes competent, compassionate and professional nursing care for patients and their families across the continuum. The role includes patient care, teaching, consultation and research. The CNS demonstrates excellence in professional nursing practice, and develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs based upon assessed learning needs of patients, families, and staff. In addition, the CNS provides expert consultation to patients, families, nurses, and other health care providers to promote positive patient care outcomes, participates in research activities that will positively affect patient care and patient care outcomes, and demonstrates accountability for ongoing personal and professional development. Requirements For the CNS position, a Master's degree in Nursing required, as well as current Massachusetts RN licensure. Knowledge of surgical nursing and CNS experience is preferred.
