Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred. Master’s Degree preferred (or candidate). Two to three years of specialty area hospital experience required along with a progressive nursing background. Adult Learner knowledge and experience is a must. Leadership skills. Mentorship experience. Project management experience.

Will lead or participate in Orientation, Competency Programs, In-service and Continuing Education, Career Development and Role Transition, Research and Scholarship, Academic Partnerships, and Outcomes Management.
The Professional Development Manager, utilizing evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence, is responsible to establish an environment that facilitates learning and development activities that influence professional growth, role competence and proficiency in their specialty. The Manager is accountable for the achievement of professional and clinical outcomes for all assigned staff on all shifts. The Manager, using creative, innovative, and flexible solutions, will provide a dynamic, innovative and interdisciplinary practice environment in their specialty practice.
The Manager is accountable for staff competence and outcomes to protect patients and provide quality care, in collaboration with the Clinical Director role performance. The overall outcome of professional development is the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that contribute to the protection and safety of patients/families and provision of quality care. Excellence includes current clinical knowledge, professional skills, appropriate experiences and quality performance by each member of the nursing team within the scope of specialty area/ patient population. Strong commitment to patient care.
To facilitate nurses in their development as professional experts who represent the profession. Support development and utilization of ancillary team members. Ensure evidenced-based standards of care (SOC) are being practiced clinically. Provide consultation in the delivery of clinical care that enhances knowledge, skill, and leadership at the bedside.
