SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB)

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor (CNS) for Ambulatory Services is responsible and accountable for organizing and directing all aspects of nursing services. The CNSs work collaboratively with the Practice Manager in supporting clinic operations and patient throughput. Ambulatory Services includes the Neighborhood Health Centers and the Hospital Based Ambulatory clinics. The CNS serves as a positive role model and sets the tone for nursing's reputation and performance. The CNS provides leadership and management in the areas of customer satisfaction, provision of safe effective care, finance, human resources, communication, patient advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership professional development.

SUMMARY (ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES)

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION - Provides leadership and supervision of nursing services that results in meeting and/or exceeding customer satisfaction targets for patients/families, physicians, and employees

PROVISION OF SAFE EFFECTIVE CARE - Collaborates with staff, practice manager, medical leadership, and other interdisciplinary health care personnel to ensure safe and effective care that meets/exceeds regulatory requirements and professional industry standards

FINANCE - Provides input in utilization of financial resources effectively and efficiently that results in meeting and/or exceeding financial targets

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - Manages and supervises nursing staff effectively and efficiently

COMMUNICATION - Establishes effective means of intra and inter unit/departmental communications

PATIENT ADVOCACY - Advocates for the patient/family rights and educates patient/family concerning their responsibilities

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT / QUALITY OF PRACTICE - Provides assistance with continuous performance improvement and staff development

LEADERSHIP PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Creates an environment of high performance nursing expectations, exhibits qualities of an effective leader, and serves as a leader/role model via professional development

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse. Bachelor Degree in Nursing Required. Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience with 2-3 years of ambulatory leadership experience, preferred.
