Are you a Clinical Psychologist looking for your next career move? If so, Hays Healthcare has an excellent opportunity with our client an excellent independent hospital, based in Leeds. They require a committed Clinical Psychologist to join their existing team. The service is gender specific, working with women who have complex mental health issues. The hospital provides both low secure and rehabilitation services.
Providing intensive clinical and therapeutic treatment, each service user has an individual and detailed care plan, underpinning the dedicated ethos of the hospital.

Job Summary:

A more extensive breakdown of specific duties can be requested and re-laid to interested candidates, what follows is a synopsis of the role:
• To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to patients and staff, across both personality disorder and generic mental health services; providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on service user’s psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues.
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the organisations policies and procedures.
• To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development within the area served by the team/service.

Person Specification:

Again, whilst not an exhaustive list, below is some of the experience, qualifications and qualities required from intended applicants:

Training Qualifications:
• HCPC Registration (current or in process)
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
• Doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
Experience Knowledge:
• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of service users within low secure and/or locked rehabilitation patient settings.
• Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups
• Experience of recovery based approaches to the service user group
• The ability to use complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management.
• Well-developed communication skills both orally and written. The ability to deliver complex and highly technical and/or sensitive information to service users, carers, their families and other professionals.
• IT and keyboard skills
• Knowledge of the impact of context on psychological distress, including physical and social environment, isolation, social attitudes and discrimination.
