For more information about GE Healthcare join our LinkedIn Group: GE Healthcare Global Community, http://linkd.in/p3Dqyk Posted Position Title: Clinical Specialist II-HC Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Clinical Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Wisconsin City: Milwaukee Postal Code: 53223-3219 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: In this role, the Infection Control Clinical Education Specialist will be responsible for driving infection control awareness and education for healthcare professionals, provide training and consultative support and close interactions with customers and the GE Healthcare business units (Cuffs), and identifying strategies that would enable GEHC to maintain industry leadership in blood pressure cuffs. Essential Responsibilities Duties include (but are not limited to): Clinical Support/Education " Responsible for providing clinical training, education and consulting support for healthcare providers to meet competencies, demonstrate theoretical and clinical knowledge skills in infection control. " Areas of expertise are centered on infection control trends, issues, processes and best practices to improve patient outcomes. " Coordinate infection control performance improvement programs for various care areas within a healthcare facility including Emergency Department, OR, NICU/ICU, Isolation and peri-operative services, and coordinated staff development programs and processes, including protocol development and management. " Based on observations and needs assessment, identify topic(s) and marketing collaterals, CE materials, articles to write and have published. Plans, generates and provides formal educational seminars and workshops to stimulate product interest in Single Patient Use BP cuffs and increase sales through infection control prevention. " Develops and maintains relationships with healthcare professionals, industry leaders, professional organizations and business associates through active membership in organizations (i.e. APIC) and participation in national/local professional meetings, workshops and seminars. Cross-Functional Relationships " Be the clinical liaison and infection control expert for the Sales and Marketing Teams and identifies customer concerns/needs, issues/solutions and potential new business/loss of business. Supports other departments (i.e., Marketing, Engineering, Clinical Research, QA/RA) through providing clinical expertise and guidance in the development and market launch of new products or services as well as concerns with existing products and programs. " Communicate with the GEHC Medical Director for dissemination of current best practices learned during site visits. Customer Focus " Obtains first-hand customer information and uses it to develop solutions for the customer. " Establishes and maintains effective relationships and credibility with customers. " Activities focus on the management of infectious diseases and infection control practices to prevent the transmission of infection. Functional/Technical Skills " Keeps current on industry trends (including competitive information), customer needs, company, product and technical knowledge. " Knowledgeable in current clinical practices and how role impacts the organization. Qualifications/Requirements: " Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, Licensed Registered Nurse, Infection Control Practitioner or equivalent is required. " Five years experience working in infection control required. " Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. " Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. " Ability to travel up to 50%, and may include international. " Cross-functional job experiences in infection control and marketing. " Demonstrated ability to convert high-level customer needs into a technical development strategy " Established publication record in their chosen field with a willingness to present at technical meetings or conferences " Demonstrated collaboration experience with biomed, hospital centers and US Government agencies. " Demonstrated ability to secure external funding opportunities. " Project leadership experience, including both technical and financial management of a project. " Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
