Clinical Supervisor - Issaquah Gastroenterology Swedish Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and creative nurse leader at our new state-of-the-art facility in Issaquah, a 175-bed hospital that opened its doors for outpatient and inpatient procedures in 2011. The selected candidate will work closely with the Manager of Perioperative Interventional Services to help organize, plan, and oversee patient care delivery for both inpatient and outpatient gastro procedures in our beautiful new facilities on the Eastside! This is a full time position at our Issaquah Campus in Issaquah. Responsible for coordinating patient care and nursing service activities consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization. Supervises the gastro clinical staff. Responsible for both the outpatient and inpatient gastro procedural areas. Directs the professional nursing care for patients in assigned area. Assesses plans, evaluates and documents the Nursing process in the assigned unit as needed. Nursing Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing required. Applicants without a BSN may be considered at the discretion of the Director of Perioperative Services. The applicant must begin actively pursuing a BSN within two years of hire. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington. Current BLS certification. Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership qualities. At least two years of supervisory or charge experience preferred. Ability to operate, or learn to operate, unit-specific equipment as outlined in defined competencies. Proficient in planning, coordinating, and reviewing operating room activities reporting to this position. Includes input into and adherence to annual operating and capital budgets. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills and attitude. Acts within department policies and procedures under minimal supervision from the Manager. Able to exercise considerable discretion in managing daily workload and staffing within budget and standard of care. Meets criteria of Registered Nurse. Ability to perform a wide variety of nursing functions in the surgical setting. Knowledge to perform assessments, plan patient care, provides direct care, and educates and orients families and staff. Skilled to work with a wide range of staff as part of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff. Ability to communicate effectively with staff of all job categories. Able to read, write, understand and communicate in English. Must have knowledge of human growth and development to modify services to the age and developmental stage of the patient.
