Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for Closed End Fund Research Analyst to join our high profile client.

Our client is a £4 billion investment manager with strategies across equity and private equity. Last yeart bonuses were in line with 50 to 100% for all the research team. The buisiness has a high track record with returns of above 14%. The business has 4 offices globally with a small headcount of only 60 people.

The main focus of the role will be to cover long only equity managers, but will also involve other asset classes such as private equity and holding companies. The research analyst will have a strong understanding of all aspects of the closed end fund structure and possess the quantitative and qualitative analytical tools required to provide insights and ideas to the Investment Management Team.

Day to Day you will be responsible for:

Providing  analytical support to the closed-end fund research process. This will involve regular meetings with fund managers and to provide detailed analysis in preparation for manager meetings and provide a post meeting report and recommendation to be discussed with the investment management team.

The analyst will also provide input into the on-going research of holding companies and special situations funds in our investable universe. This will involve carrying out in-depth research on the underlying holdings, developing valuation models, analysing and assessing all aspects of the fund/company and providing on-going in-depth research on the security.

My client has a unique investment strategy and this role often makes key investment decisions.

Candidates must have:

• Prior experience of Closed End Fund research
• Experience of investment research and investment management
• Degree ideally with a mathematical or Quant flavor
• prior investment trust/closed end fund experience essential
• CFA (or started)
• Bloomberg
