Closed End Fund/Investment Trust Research Analyst recruitment

The research analyst will have a strong understanding of all aspects of the closed end fund structure and possess the quantitative and qualitative analytical tools required to provide insights and ideas to the Investment Management Team.

Specific responsibilities:

To provide analytical support to the closed-end fund research process. This will involve regular meetings with fund managers and to provide detailed analysis in preparation for manager meetings and provide a post meeting report and recommendation to be discussed with the investment management team.

The analyst will also provide input into the on-going research of holding companies and special situations funds in our investable universe. This will involve carrying out in-depth research on the underlying holdings, developing valuation models, analysing and assessing all aspects of the fund/company and providing on-going in-depth research on the security.

The person:

-highly numerate and an excellent written and verbal communicator- this is a high profile role and the individual will be expected to provide input into the investment process in the form of research reports via daily interaction with the Investment Management team.

-able to work under pressure, able to perform duties in a competent, timely and professional manner.

-prior investment trust/closed end fund experience essential.

-ideally doing or have completed the CFA.

-advanced excel and Bloomberg skills.

-attention to detail and accuracy.
