DSA has an opening for a Senior Net-Centric Enterprise Architect. This position is located at Fort Meade, MD and offers highly rewarding technical challenges in architecture planning the systems engineering.
The senior architect is responsible for development of technical papers, specifications, and recommendations which lead the development of a coherent enterprise level DoD cloud computing technical framework and architecture.
The selected candidate will
(1) Provide Technical guidance in support of developing application/service and data portability standards between different cloud service offerings
(2) Develop policies and standards for ensuring the interoperability of similar categories of cloud services in different clouds (e.g., private and community clouds)
(3) Develop policies, standards develop solutions and recommendations for mitigating risk of vendor specific service related dependencies.
In the capacity of senior architect and systems engineer, the selected candidate will also participate as part of an engineering team delivering the following engineering and technical services:
- Supporting the investigation of DoD net-centric data sharing requirements and developing recommendations for implementing and improving the interoperability of federated DoD cloud solutions,
- Establishing a common taxonomy of cloud computing for the DoD enterprise to ensure the development and adoption of a consistent definition of DoD Cloud Computing Computing Services
- Defining and developing an over arching DoD cloud computing technical framework using the SysML general-purpose graphical modeling language.
- Researching and identifying industry solutions, technologies and best common practices to support the application services and data portability across cloud service offerings and for cloud interoperability from commercial cloud providers, the private cloud product marketplace, and open source cloud systems
- Studying and analyzing cloud computing open standards from industry organizations, such as NIST, DMTF and SNIA and developing cloud portability and interoperability standards for the DoD
Requirements:
· The selected candidate must have 8 - 10 years of experience in system architecture planning and systems engineering.
· The candidate must have a knowledge and understanding of the DoD Federal Architecture and NIST cloud computing Reference Architecture.
· The candidate must also have experience in architecture planning, and implementation support.
· Additionally, the candidate must have experience in providing systems engineering and architecture related engineering services in a cloud based or data center environment.
· Must have experience working with key stakeholders in identifying requirements and use cases for transitional systems.
· Minimum DoD Secret Clearance is Required
*Experience in utilizing formal system architecture tools and methodologies is also highly desirable.
Education:
Master Degree in CS/EE/SE with 8or more years of documented Systems Architect/Engineering experience is required.
*Consideration will be given to candidates BS degree and extensive system architect experience.
