Scope
An opportunity currently exists within our Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting Services (CMACS) at Manager level in our Perth office. CMACS is a national team bringing together multiple skill-sets to work with the firm's clients and internally with engagement teams across all industries. This group provides specialised advice to a wide range of clients both locally and internationally. Areas of specialisation include cross border capital markets transactions, advice and assistance for preparation and review of SEC filings, IFRS implementation, accounting advisory, including advice on accounting for financial instruments, deal structuring and transactions related accounting support. CMACS currently has a team of approx. 40 staff and has presence in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane offices.
Responsibilities
We are seeking individuals with audit and/or accounting advisory experience in a Big 4 or leading national firm. You will have completed your CA or equivalent qualification. You will present with outstanding communication skills, a proven track record in developing effective client relationships and a motivation to achieve.
Successful candidates would be expected to be involved in a broad range of client engagements, as listed above, however with a particular focus on accounting advisory work in Melbourne.
Managers in our national team are expected to demonstrate agility and multi-tasking skills by getting involved in broad range of projects across our offices.
Skills
- Recognized accounting qualification
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS
- Possess solid technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards gained in a professional services environment
- Ability to quickly absorb technical information
- Intuitive thinking
- A desire to gain exposure to different cultures and economies
- An ability to establish and maintain excellent client relations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Should have experience in supervising staff and an evidenced ability to manage others and;
- An ability to identify potential sales or value add opportunities
- An ability to multitask and manage a number of competing priorities. An openness to provide support to the wider CMACS team with Business Development and Internal items, including work on internal accounting consultations and enquiries.
- Proven Agility - being able to step up into more challenging roles and an ability and willingness to complete the more simple tasks.

Ability and willingness to travel at regular periods to other offices around Australia according to business needs
The following experience will be particularly well regarded although not required:
- Strong technical expertise in US GAAP
- PCAOB integrated audit experience
- Experience in deal structuring, advising on practical application of accounting issues
