Scope
An exciting opportunity currently exists to join our Capital Markets and Accounting Consulting Services (CMACS) group. CMACS is a national team bringing together multiple skill-sets to work with the firm's clients and internally with engagement teams across all industries. This group provides specialised advice to a wide range of clients both locally and internationally. Areas of specialisation incorporate cross border capital markets transactions, advice and assistance for preparation and review of SEC filings, IFRS implementation, accounting advisory, including advice on accounting for financial instruments, deal structuring and transactions related accounting support.
Responsibilities
We are seeking individuals with audit or capital markets experience in a Big 4 or leading national firm. You will have completed your CA or equivalent qualification and have had exposure to US regulatory requirements. You will present with outstanding communication skills, a proven track record in developing effective client relationships and a motivation to achieve.
Successful candidates would be expected to be involved in a broad range of client engagements, as listed above, however with a particular focus on capital markets work in Sydney.
Senior Accountants in our national team are expected to demonstrate agility and multi-tasking skills by getting involved in broad range of projects across our offices.
There is a steep learning curve, particularly in technical accounting expertise due to the variety of work. In return you will be given excellent career opportunities.
Skills
The following experience will be particularly well regarded although not required:
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and/or US GAAP
- PCAOB integrated audit experience
- Deal experience with acquisitions, pro forma's, comfort letters
Additional attributes expected include:

- Strong technical expertise in US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Possess solid technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards gained in a professional services environment
