You will work to create solutions which are tailored to client's business needs and integrate the IBM/brand capabilities in a way that is valued by the customer and superior to the competition. In this role it is essential that you are able to apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to bring new business and technology insights to assigned clients. Further responsibilities include: * Manage an open territory to drive new sales and expand existing business * Provide sales leadership * Move sales opportunities to closure * Work with other sellers and units of IBM as needed to create an effective solution for the client * Maintain a thorough understanding of the client's industry, including industry trends, industry business processes, industry financial measurements and performance indicators, and key client competitors in their industry. The ideal candidates will also have: * Some knowledge of the players in and landscape of Social Software and Collaboration Solutions in the corporate environment. * Executive level selling experience * Consultative selling capability * Ability to provide insight to business leaders in the Retail Distribution industry * An outstanding ability to understand business problems and articulate a corresponding solution based on IBM software * Understanding of competitive technologies and their place in the market * Excellent verbal and written skills * Strong Competitive and Retention skills for ICS Brand Required * Basic knowledge in software sales * Readiness to travel 50% travel annually * English: Fluent Preferred * Bachelor's Degree * At least 2 years experience in software sales * At least 2 years experience in technical software sales * At least 2 years experience in working in or selling into Retail Distribution Companies IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
