Collateral Management and Cover Calling Manager recruitment
This department will be collateral processing including the lodgement and withdrawal process as well as any asset servicing that might be required. The department will also be responsible for the cover call process that determines how all forms of collateral are applied against a members liabilities as well as all Swift payment processing generated as part of this process.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the Collateral lodgement and withdrawal process including tri-party RQV instructions;
- Overseeing the cover distribution process that applies assets and collateral against members' liabilities;
- Overseeing the margin call process of payments and receipts made via SWIFT;
- Ensuring controls on collateral management process are monitored and exceptions resolved in a timely manner;
- Managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis providing a high standard of service to Members;
- Liaison with Custodians, Agents and settlement banks;
- Liaising with risk on high value/high risk collateral moves;
- Oversee maintenance of standing data, including haircuts and concentration rules;
- Review customer instructions and related documentation;
- Accurately review various exception reports in a timely manner, and determine an appropriate course of action for their resolution;
- Effective and clear response to email and verbal inquiries;
- Ensuring that all daily tasks/ functions completed by the department are performed to a high degree of accuracy and efficiency;
- Perform all objective setting and appraisals for all direct reports; and
- The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment, covering day-to-day collateral and cover call processing.
The Candidate
Required experience and skills:
- Our client requires the candidate to have an excellent understanding of collateral management. This of course would include both bi-lateral and tri-party processing, including all aspects of lodgement and withdrawal as well as asset servicing, valuation and tax processing of collateral.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent PC skills (particularly Microsoft Excel);
- Strong academic record preferably a graduate in a Finance or Science discipline;
- Good knowledge of exchange-traded derivatives and other markets;
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills;
- Knowledge of Swift payments processing;
- Understanding of Bond Security settlement processing with CSD or other Custodian banks;
- Knowledge of collateral systems; and
- Understanding of back office processes including reconciliations and clearing platforms would be an advantage.
