Collateral Management – Global Projects Manager recruitment

The Collateral Management Department is responsible for exposure monitoring of complex client trading strategies of multiple businesses at Morgan Stanley, including Prime Brokerage, Private Wealth Management and OTC Equity and Fixed Income Derivatives.

Collateral Management is a global group with offices in London, New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong and has a combined staff of approximately 100 individuals.

There is currently a position available for a strong individual at the Director /VP level, within the global Collateral Projects Team. The successful candidate will be working in a challenging environment, managing both tactical changes to the existing architecture and bringing about strategic change for the global department.

The scope of the role includes:
• Management of global project initiatives and facilitating the prioritization of projects considering the business, regulatory and efficiency requirements of the global department.
• Managing a global team of project managers to ensure the timely delivery and appropriate management of the Firm’s tactical and strategic objectives.
• Managing the budget
• Project management of existing global initiatives
• Business case development
• Analysis and solution definition to global process improvement
• Liaising with IT to ensure that the proposed solution is understood and timeframes determined for delivery
• Preparation of test plans for releases
• Management of front to back testing pack and global regression
• Actively testing functionality and ensure UAT completion
• Management of issue tracking and oversight to resolution

Skills and experience required:

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent - analytical, financial or mathematically related subject favored.
• Experience in managing projects or as a business analyst
• Candidate will have proven exposure to OTC Collateral, Fixed Income products and ideally a good insight into derivative products typically traded within an OTC Collateral environment.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, being able to communicate clearly and concisely, moderating style and delivery to suit different parties and media
• The candidate should be able to organize themselves efficiently, keep track of multiple outstanding items and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstration in their past work experience of robust analytical skills, high attention to detail and process improvement

To effectively deliver the role the candidate is expected to:
• Manage a large, global book of project deliverables and project considered and clear priority listings for IT and the supported business units.
• Be comfortable communicating with senior management and be able to articulate the deliverables from all project initiatives, along with relevant and timely updates on status.
• Develop key relationships with IT delivery managers and ensure partnerships are developed to drive the business forwards.
