Collateral Management Process

Our client, a leading global financial services firm with assets of $1.2 trillion and is a leader in investment banking.
They are currently recruiting in the Bournemouth area and looking for passionate, career minded professionals with excellent communication skills and keen to work in fast paced environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the EMEA IB Collateral Operations team. The team is responsible for the receipt and payment of collateral relating to OTC Derivatives, Repo and Traditional Credit Products.

Department

The Collateral team provide a controlled environment for the mitigation of counterparty risk via the monitoring and collection of collateral.
The department support collateral agreements that encompass the Fixed Income, Credit, FX, Equity, Structured Products and Commodities businesses.

The team are primarily responsible for:

Issuance, receipt and monitoring of margin calls in accordance with the terms of the collateral agreements for OTC Derivatives and Repo.
Control, escalation and resolution of collateral disputes and fails.
Recording, reconciliation and control of cash or securities received/posted as collateral
The group uses global platforms (COAST and Anvil) to perform most of the collateral functions.

Role Description

Run and issue daily reports for reconciliation of cash and stock.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks in a timely manner.
Calculation of daily interest rates for collateral positions.
Book Loans and Deposit where required.
Control the payment and receipt of cash process – advising Treasury of receipts and payment of funds to ensure proper cash management and avoid costs.
Check and release cash and securities moves as agreed with the counterparties.
Interface closely with WSS for securities settlement.
Work closely with the Repo desk in terms of borrowing bonds for use as collateral.
Work with our financial controllers to help answer questions as they relate to balance sheet posting.
Ensure that Settlement Instructions have been called back and are accurately input into our systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

High level of accuracy and attention to detail needed.
Ability to prioritise workflow and work to strict deadlines.
Work in a methodical and organised manner and to follow procedures.
Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible during busy periods such as month end.
Knowledge of cash processing, accounting and Nostro reconciliation.
