Collateral Management Specialist recruitment

Overview

The primary function of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the collateral function providing an efficient processing and settlement service to LCH.Clearnet members, ensuring at all times that the collateral management processes are carried out in accordance with LCH.Clearnet procedures.

Responsibilities

GENERIC MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION
• To manage the timely collection and submission of relevant and required Management Information for the Treasury Operations area

CONTROL OF BUDGET AND COSTS
• Identify ways to save costs and work with Manager to implement change

OPERATIONAL RISK CONTROL AND COMPLIANCE
• Ensure Internal Procedures are reviewed regularly and kept up to date
• Ensure any required Rulebook updates are highlighted and work with the Manager to implement change
• Assist in the identification of appropriate controls to comply with the internal operational risk control framework
• To participate in Internal Audit reviews within the department.
• Ensure all staff receive appropriate compliance training

SECURITY AND BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING
• Ensure that the department's security policy, controls and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
• Ensure that the department's business continuity policy, processes and guidelines are created, updated, implemented and maintained
• To carry out Application Security reviews of systems for which Treasury Operations is process owner and act as deputy process owner to Director of such systems.

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENTS
• Identify ways to improve departmental processes/procedures and work with Manager to implement change.
• Work with other departments/divisions to resolve conflicts and shared member issues

SERVICE DELIVERY
• Ensure that clearing members performance is monitored and issues reported to line manager
• Deliver services to other departments in accordance with SLAs
• To ensure that incidents are reported accurately and in a timely fashion, having regard for the requirements of readers of the reports particularly in relation to understandability and relevance.

Responsibilities Tasks
Collateral Management
Carry out the necessary day to day activities to ensure efficient operation, including:

• Authorise Collateral Lodgement/Release/Updates

• Check validation of Collateral Paperwork

• Process Coupon Payments

• Provide Collateral information to Static Data

• Authorise Triparty Trades

• Authorise Swifts Messages for Triparty Trades

• Verify/Authorise Swift Messages

• Incident Reporting

• Deputy in Verifying Payments

• Authorising Manual Swift Messages

• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Ensure Relevant Tax Documentation Completed

• File and Archive Documentation

• Undertake Any Other Duties As Required by Management

• Check/amend Collateral Haircuts

• Ensure collateral lodged adheres to Risk Policy

• 'Forward Thinking' for new developments

• Acquire specific knowledge of operating procedures within various systems Ensure that the following tasks are undertaken in an accurate and timely manner:

Authorise trades input by the Collateral Co-ordinator in the relevant custodian systems.

Ensure all settled trades are printed.

Check authorised signatories on collateral forms.

Authorise any amendments made in the Banking system.

To monitor unmatched transactions and ensure they are matched in a timely manner, escalating when necessary.

Check reconciliation of securities in Back Office system against Custodian statements, reporting any discrepancies.

Ensure Incidents are raised/closed in a timely manner

Check collateral haircuts and provide Static Data with paperwork for amendments.

To be fully conversant with and be able to operate internal and external systems demonstrating good knowledge of the systems and reports generated

To contribute to and maintain internal and external procedures

Ensure operation deadlines for all contracts are adhered to at all times

To demonstrate knowledge of LCH.Clearnet General Regulations, Default Rules and Procedures where appropriate.
