Collateral Manager
Our Client
Our client is world recognized asset manager. Due to a changing market and regulatory enviroment the team is seeking a collateral manager as part of the derivatives process. Thie ideal professional will have a collateral background with derivatives experience. Securities Lending experience will also be considered.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day processing of various collateral functions within the team.
- Perform detailed review of exception processing by analyzing established measures.
- Ensure that the group's performance standards are met, minimizing errors and costs. Report and elevate problems with performance to the senior management.
- Interpret, analyze, and recommend operational procedures and policies to comply with industry standards and market practices.
- Responsible for the daily scheduling and completion of work to meet daily deadlines.
- Effectively identify and manage the business risk associated with the group.
- Manage effective relationships will all internal and external customers.
- Select and develop staff through effective recruitment, coaching and training.
- Provide feedback and performance reviews for employees including providing documentation for staff needing formal performance management.
- Effectively delegate, motivate, and manage change through staff.
- Maximize the use of existing systems capabilities/enhancements to facilitate the implementation of new work processes.
- Set business goals related to daily operations of group.
- Assess opportunities for and manage staff through process improvement initiatives.
- Manage the equitable allocation of staff resources within the department and, during peak times, work with other managers to load balance resources across groups
Job Requirements
- 5 - 8 years of relevant industry experience
- 1-3 years of management experience
- BA/BS in Business, Economics, Finance
- In-depth understanding of the workings of custody, accounting and investment operations industry
- Working knowledge of downstream impacts, workflows and requirements of internal and external business partners and systems applications
- Detailed knowledge of securities and monetary transactions with associated financial services industry systems, standards, and regulatory conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Strong working knowledge of project and relationship management
- Ability to make decisions with little oversight or guidance
- Strong client service skills
- Ability to recognize high risk items and escalate those items or seek assistance to minimize loss to either the company or our clients.
