Collective Trust Specialist recruitment

 GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the daily processing of activity for Unitization’s Collective Investment Trusts (CITs).  Will evaluate and process NSCC activity for 40 or more CITs, determine and execute settlement with client banks, assist in calculating and submitting trades for underlying CIT assets, and review control reports and reconciliations for CIT assets and participant balances, all under strict deadlines.  Assisting with the responsibilities of other Unitization desks will also be an essential duty of this position.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Must develop expert knowledge of Unitization’s Shareholder Services software.

• Use Shareholder Services software to retrieve, review, and confirm participant activity from the NSCC for Unitization’s CIT funds.

• Meet deadlines for confirming CIT activity with NSCC and Third Party Administrators (TPAs).

• Review and approve new account requests from clients, delivered through the NSCC.

• Calculate and process settlement with clients and TPAs for relevant activity.

• Load activity into Unitization’s Fund Accounting system and/or Portfolio Management system, as well as Reliance’s Custody system.

• Calculate purchases/redemptions for underlying assets within CIT funds based upon trading rules for each fund, and pass trades to relevant trading departments.

• Reconcile shareholder positions of CIT funds between Shareholder Services system and Reliance Custody system.

• Reconcile underlying asset positions within CIT funds between Fund Accounting/Portfolio Management systems and the Reliance Custody system.

• Monitor e-mail for directions applicable to processing on assigned desk.

• Answer client and TPA queries concerning fund activity and positions timely and accurately.

• Follow departmental and desk procedures precisely.

• Assume ownership and accountability for designated tasks, and assist other specialists as needed.

• Consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines.

• Communicate clearly with other department Specialists to ensure that all client direction is appropriately acted upon.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL PREFERENCES (any of these would be beneficial)

• Familiarity with Linedata Shareholder Services (Mshare) and/or Fund Accounting systems (Mfact).

• Experience with Fund Accounting and Fund Accounting software.

• Experience with Shareholder Accounting and Shareholder Accounting software.

• Experience interacting with the NSCC (National Securities Clearing Corporation), or DTC (Depository Trust Corporation).

• Familiarity with SQL programming.

• Experience with pricing securities for a custodian, unitization, or fund accounting department.

• Experience with Bloomberg software and/or terminals.

• Experience with Addvantage or similar SunGard systems.

• Experience with Microsoft Access.

• Familiarity with XML programming.

• Experience with processing security transactions: could include asset trading, processing corporate actions, handling security transfers, or security position reconciliation.

• Experience with Retirement Plan administration.

MINIMUM SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Microsoft Office suite (particularly comprehensive knowledge of Excel).

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• BS/BBA Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent accounting experience.

• Outstanding writing and communication skills. 

• Detail-oriented, should possess strong organizational skills.

• Must show initiative and not wait for direction. 

• Ability to determine appropriate priority level for tasks and responsibilities based on instructions.

• Ability to learn quickly, motivation to research subjects related to job.  

• Teamwork oriented.
