College Grant Administrator

The West Virginia University College of Engineering and Mineral Resources (CEMR) seeks an individual responsible for the design, implementation and management of an infrastructure and research certification system to provide professional level administrative and budgeting support for both pre and post sponsored awards (grants and contracts) activity. The College Grants Administrator is a CEMR employee, and reports to the Dean of the College with a secondary reporting relationship to the Central Finance Division, through the Senior Associate Vice President for Finance. Candidates must have a Bachelor s degree in a business related field. Master s preferred. Candidates must have 6 years of experience in higher education research administration. Preference will be given to candidates with working experience at a higher education institution holding a Carnegie Foundation research classification of high research activity or greater. Candidates must also have 6 years of experience in financial analysis and budgeting with an emphasis on governmental fund accounting and 3 years of management/supervisory experience. Candidate must hold a Certification as a Certified Research Administrator or Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator. This position provides the selected candidate with the opportunity to live in the foothills of the beautiful and affordable Allegheny Mountains in Morgantown, West Virginia. Morgantown was recently selected as the Number One Small City in America, and the Best Small City in the Eastern United States, in two unrelated rankings. The county s school system was selected as one of the nation s Top 100 in another recent survey. Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, D.C. to the east, Pittsburgh to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus to the west.
